Commercial Property Accounts Assistant

The Role:

Full-time Accounts Assistant required for a busy accounts department dealing with both commercial and residential property management. The accounts team is based in Weybridge, a hard-working team within a friendly, supportive environment.

The individual will be responsible for all aspects of accounts relating to our Basingstoke portfolio. Experience in commercial property management accounts is a necessity and knowledge of the RICS guidelines.

As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial management of service charge accounts within a fast-paced environment while upholding compliance with financial regulations as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining service charge accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with RICS regulations
  • Prepare and review service charge budgets
  • Producing client statements and any additional reports required
  • VAT reporting
  • Collaborate with property management team to resolve accounts queries
  • Liaise with external accountants on production of year end accounts where necessary

Qualification and required skills:

  • AAT Stage 3 or similar qualification
  • Solid understanding of service charge accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired knowledge and skills:

  • Experience using Qube Property Management
  • Knowledge of commercial rents, ASTs and mixed use properties
