Located approximately 30 miles south-west of central London, Guildford is the county town of Surrey and is surrounded by the Surrey Hills area of outstanding natural beauty.
The River Wey, flows through the town centre and its crossing points have made the town a focal point for commerce for over a thousand years.
The University of Surrey, located adjacent to Guildford Cathedral, to the north-west of the town centre, is known for its research and development and is a key centre for satellite and mobile communications research.

The A3 trunk road, which runs between London and Portsmouth, passes close to central Guildford and provides rapid access to the M25 but also the towns of the Blackwater Valley via the A31 Hogs Back, which runs between Guildford and Farnham.
This town is also served by mainline railway services between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Clapham Junction. The town’s second station, London Road, also provides a link with Waterloo via Epsom.
Both Heathrow and Gatwick International airports are both within 30 miles of the town.
