Nick Reeve, a partner at Curchod & Co’s Farnham office, is preparing to take on the London Marathon in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, aiming to raise at least £2,000 for the vital charity.
Nick has set himself the gruelling challenge of running 26.2 miles on 21st April, despite admitting that training has been tougher than expected.
“I must be mad!” he said “My 50th is fast approaching, and in a desperate attempt to prove that I am not too old, I decided to enter the London Marathon again. The training started a while ago but is not proving quite as easy as I remembered. New little niggles and aches and pains have already surfaced; the thought of running 26 miles is terrifying!
“I ran 25 miles last week over four sessions – but I am still in pain. This much exercise when I am pushing my half-century is taking its toll.
“It’s important for me to remember that I am raising money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice to help support the incredible end-of-life care they provide. The hospice’s staff go above and beyond to ensure patients are treated with dignity, kindness, and respect, making people’s days as comfortable as possible.”
Nick’s fundraising will support Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, which provides crucial end-of-life care for patients with terminal illnesses. The charity needs to raise £25,000 every day to fund its services and aims to raise an additional £1 million in 2025 to support the construction of a new hospice.
Every donation will help the charity continue its essential work, providing compassionate care for patients and support for their loved ones.
