A private property company, advised by Curchod & Co, has let a 1,671 sq ft retail property at 39 Guildford Rd, in Lightwater, Surrey to DEBRA, the national charity supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic condition, often referred to as ‘Butterfly Skin’ due to the fragility of the skin of those affected.
DEBRA has taken the property on a new six-year lease, aiming to enhance their fundraising efforts through the new charity shop.
David Bowen of Curchod & Co shared his enthusiasm about the transaction, “The busy village location presents an ideal setting for DEBRA’s charity shop. With its prominent position within the main retail area on Guildford Road, excellent off-street parking, and high footfall, it offers a superb opportunity for the charity.
“We are confident that the new outlet will be successful, helping to support the crucial work DEBRA does for those living with EB,” he added.
DEBRA, which operates over 90 stores across the UK, has long sought to establish a presence in the area and the charity’s selection of the site underscores the strategic importance of location in maximising the visibility and accessibility of its retail outlets, crucial for generating funds to support its mission.
